Matcha preparation
Matcha is a nutritious, flavourful and versatile powder that can be enjoyed in many ways. From matcha tea to matcha cookies, we invite you to let your creative energy flow. Below are 3 common and popular ways to enjoy your matcha.
Traditional Matcha Tea
- Sift ½ tsp. matcha powder into bowl or cup.
- Pour 60ml (2oz) hot water onto the powder. For best results use water just under a boil.
- Whisk vigorously with “M” motions until your matcha tea forms a frothy layer.
- Add more hot water to desired taste.
Tip: Traditional matcha tea is best enjoyed with an authentic Ceremonial Grade Matcha.
Matcha Latte
- Sift ½ tsp. matcha powder into bowl or cup.
- Pour 60ml (2oz) hot water onto the powder. For best results use water just under a boil.
- Whisk vigorously with “M” motions until your matcha tea forms a frothy layer.
- Heat or steam 1 cup of your favourite milk over medium heat and add to matcha.
- Optional: Add a sweetener of your choice.

Matcha Smoothie
- Combine 120ml (4oz) of your favourite milk beverage and ice into a blender.
- Add ½ tsp. matcha powder and one frozen banana (or other any ingredients of your choosing).
- Blend ingredients together until creamy and smooth.
