Quality Control

Soar Organics matcha is sourced from Kyoto, Japan. This central region in Japan is home to some of the oldest green tea farms, and can be appreciated for the area’s rich culture and history.

As a company, we take pride in offering high quality matcha that is certified organic. Soar Organics matcha is certified by both COR (Canadian Organic Regime) and JAS (Japanese Agricultural Organic Standard). This means that no harmful chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or other artificial agents are used in any of our farming activities. Additionally, our matcha is free of any unnecessary additives, sweeteners or fillers. It’s also gluten-free, vegan-friendly and free of any GMOs. This is something we can celebrate!

Further to this, sourcing a good matcha means that quality control measures are being put in place to ensure safety and freshness. Here’s some of the quality control measures that are taken before our matcha reaches your cup:

  • Soar Organics matcha is ground using only tencha leaves that have been shaded from the sun, unlike sencha leaves.
  • Throughout the farm-to-cup process, visual inspections are done for colour and stalk.
  • Testing for radiation, heavy metals, and arsenic is conducted by lab analysis up to four times per month.
